Breakdowns, warning triangles and reflective vests

A breakdown can explain why the vehicle was in a prohibited location. Establish how the driver warned others, which part of the road was occupied and when help was requested.

What to check in your case

Describe the fault, triangle placement, use of a vest and hazard lights. On a motorway the warnings used are particularly relevant to classification.

Documents for your defence

Full notice or decision, front and back, and evidence of the date of service.

  • Assistance sheet, towing invoice or repair bill
  • Pictures showing the vehicle and warnings in position
