Allergen information, menus and food labels

Food information duties differ for prepacked and non-prepacked products. If an allergenic ingredient was present, compare it with the information actually available to the customer.

What to check in your case

Identify the recipe and batch, supplier specifications and how consumers received information before choosing. If a recipe changed, record when the ingredient and the label, menu or specification changed.

Documents for your defence

Full notice or decision, front and back, and evidence of the date of service.

  • Label or menu from the inspection date and allergen matrix
  • Supplier specifications and recipe for the batch
