Failure to display retail or restaurant prices

Where a customer views a product or selects a service matters when assessing price visibility. Some goods must also show a price per unit of measurement.

What to check in your case

Reconstruct the display on inspection day, including the label’s distance from the item, window layout or menu location. Identify whether the allegation concerns a missing price, legibility or the unit used.

Documents for your defence

Full notice or decision, front and back, and evidence of the date of service.

  • Photographs of the shelf, display, menu or price list on the relevant day
  • Labels or dated price list identifying the product
